The Authority’s bills will offer a box customerss can check toindicate they’d like to donater to the Living River Fund. The fund will be used to purchasd water rights so that watedr can be kept inthe river, maintaining flowse for plants and wildlife. The Water Authoritty gave $225,000 to that fund and conservation groupsprovided $25,000. The Waterd Authority also is contributinvg $160,000 annually to a Rio Grander silver minnow breeding program and is involved in habitatt restoration efforts onthe river.
