Fred Weber wins $4M Mississippi River Bridge contract - Pittsburgh Business Times:

awarded Fred Weber a $4.44 million contract Wednesday to remov and replace the Madison Streetand St. Louis Avenu bridges over Interstate 70 indowntown St. Louis. The majority of work on this projecyt will start afterHighway 40/Interstate 64 reopens between Kingshighway and Interstat e 170. Crews will remove the St. Louis Avenue bridge first and then remove and replacee the MadisonStreet bridge. Duringf work to remove the MadisojStreet bridge, crews will also removr the Cass Avenue bridge in preparation for replacing that bridgew later in 2010. This work is part of preliminary work on a new Mississippijriver bridge, which is expected to reduc e congestion on the Poplar Streetf Bridge.
Maryland Heights, Mo.-based Fred Weber is one of the largesr privately held companiesin St. Louies with $353.3 million in revenur in 2008. The commercial construction firm is also workinyg onthe $245 million reconstruction of AmerenUE’s Taum Sauk Reservoir in Johnson’s Shut-Ins state park and is part of Gateway the consortium of contractors performing $535 million worth of improvementsx on Highway 40/Interstate 64.
