McAfee launches online cybercrime aid for victims - Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal:

Santa Clara-based McAfee (NYSE:MFE) citee Consumer Reports, which said consumers in the Unite States have lost closeto $8.5 billiob over the last two years to cybercrime. “With physical crime you know rightg away if your house has been broken into or your car has been butwith cybercrime, it’s not that obvious. ” The site also provides a forensic scanningf tool basedon McAfee’e Global Threat Intelligence. It assesses whether an individual has malware running on his or her computert or has visited malicious Web sites that may have stolepersonal information. Specially-trained people will be available live to assisg victims by telephone in the mostseriouxs cases, McAfee said.
